The Veteran Hotel

Aim

The Veteran Hotel's aim is to provide a free service for veterans in the form of transition, respite, emergency and holiday accommodation.

Dale Hiller, a Royal Navel veteran and John Dugdale, an Army veteran, thank you for reading about The Veteran Hotel, the only hotel in the United Kingdom run by veterans for veterans and their families.

We have come a long way since Dale had the vision to establish a specific place for veterans to meet up and access support services following Project 1, the successful Mobile Hub which travelled the Island offering a space to talk and deliver support, and Project 2, a permanent Hub located in a High Street offering a safe space for meeting fellow 'heroes' over a cup of tea , being signposted to services and professionals offering their services for health and counselling treatment.

The Veteran Hotel is Project 3!  It has been operational since 5th December 2022.  Dale and John set up a CIC and have leased the intention to purchase in a couple of years, this hotel to offer respite, holiday, transition and emergency accommodation.

The Hotel offers 13 rooms of various sizes which are kitted out to a very high standard offering all our guests comfortable, relaxing, self-catering accommodation.

The Bar offers us the opportunity of a funding stream to fulfil our aims and objectives.  It also provides a first class, safe and friendly environment for our veterans who may enjoy a beer with suitable entertainment.  It offers the comradeship and company many veterans sadly miss upon leaving the services.  Non-veterans, the public, are also welcome and the bar's decor reflects all three services and the merchant service, honouring all the brave men and women that have served.
