We aim to raise funds to cover overheads at our two hubs which support and help veterans and others to socialise through various activities.
The VC Gallery runs two Drop-ins which are open to the Armed Forces Community for help and support with day to day issues for housing, benefits and debt. Our hubs are safe, creative environments offering many opportunities to engage with various art activities such as photography, craft, art and creative writing. One participant commented that ‘the sessions are always so relaxing I’m always disappointed when they come to an end’
Every Wednesday and Thursday we run art workshops with up to 30 people attending, enjoying spending tim together, making friends and learning new skills.
Our open door policy, non judgmental, fun space quickly helps people feel accepted. It helps them feel that asking for help is a brave thing to do and once that happens we can help with their recovery journey to improved mental health and wellbeing.
On a weekly basis we hold a Breakfast club providing healthy nutritious food to anyone who wants to pop in! It’s a great social event and sets us up for the day.
As a team we also get out and about volunteering for others by maintaining their gardens, keeping them looking good, planting and even painting down at the football pitch. Simon a veteran who volunteers with us said ‘ I love getting outdoors and helping others It makes me feel good and I sleep better too at the end of the day‘ .

Any money raised will go towards the overheads of the two Drop-ins, employment of our peer mentors and staff.
