Aim

Protect our Community Shop

The Glenelg Community Shop was purchased in November 2025 by the Glenelg and Arnisdale Development Trust. This has allowed us to secure the shop’s future and make sure that it remains a vital resource for generations to come. The shop is more than a shop, providing daily essentials, it’s a lifeline for so many, a community hub and a vital service. 

The shop has looked after us for years and now it’s our turn to look after the shop.

Store Roof: This needs refurbished, in replacing the infrastructure, it will allow us to maintain our stock levels.
We will be looking to replace the External Roof and internally, the plaster.

Refrigeration Replacement: Replacing the Fridges and Freezers in the shop, allows us to become more energy efficient, stock more produce and produce less waste. We are looking to replace our current fridges and freezers, with two standing freezers and two double door fridges. 

In doing all this, it will allow us to expand the services we currently offer. Your contribution big or small will help make this happen. Join us in protecting this essential part of Glenelg and its Service to the community allowing us to thrive as a community led enterprise.
