Preparation now to start

Dear All

£3030 as I write is just amazing and we spent last night working on how we can make this event better and more exciting.  We have decided to spend a number of days ahead of the Convention preparing the site with banners and separate areas for each part of the event.

We recently built four huts on site, where our nursery teachers live and where next year we hope our school teachers will live, as the plan is to build this year a secondary school, where we can school our social entrepreneurship trainees in a more empowering environment than where they are currently schooled.  These huts will house specific events, such as the "Try out" boardgames and Caverns of Koro, leaving the main rooms for the Omweso tournament, Computer games (out of the rain) and Roborally/Codenames tournaments.

Joseph, 16, who is not on the video, is quite a talented artist and he will make a good job of this work.  He's helping Patrick also with the map for Caverns of Koro, as he has been a long-standing member of the RPG group, which Patrick leads.  Most recently, he and Arnold have been running Pathfinder adventures, while Patrick and I run two different adventure paths.  I have a long thread on this at this link for those interested:

We are keeping close tabs on the container, as it travels to Mombasa, as it should arrive within the next week and assuming it is not delayed at the port (it should be transferred directly to Kampala), then we should have it by around May 8th or before.  It then gets opened, repacked and we will send it to Koro as soon as we can.

Beckham has been working on the menu for the event and he wants to introduce a few new foods to the children that come to the event.  Last year we were able to cook chicken curry, which was a real success, so this year the plan is to try other new things.

Our young people want to show you what they can do and I anticipate they will be work very gard over the next few weeks.  We had an idea to do some giant games and also bring in some more traditional boardgames like draughts and chess, so watch this space!

Lastly, if you want to follow Chrysalis, then you can do that at http://www.facebook.com/chrysaliscentre - we will be posting most of the photographs up there, though we will send all supporters a link, as soon as we have it.

Bye for now!

Got an idea like this?
