Working with local artists and collaborating with the community, LYT are bringing Tide Mills "back to life" from 20th-26th September 2021.
The Tide Mills Project
The Tide Mills Project is a creative heritage project from LYT Productions, backed by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England and the South Downs National Park Authority. The project is focused on sharing the unique and diverse history of Tide Mills with new audiences through a variety of creative and artistic disciplines. The project is totally free to participants and attendees. It's our biggest project to date.

COVID-19 Impact
Due to COVID-19, our project needed to extend from 9 months to 20 months which has put a huge stain on the project team and finances. We have worked extremely hard to raise extra funding during this time and have managed to secure a small bid from The Sussex Community Foundation but .......

Why we need a final financial push over the line
Our finale to the project is looming and we are now still short of funding for our security and stewarding bill which is vital for the safety and comfort of our Heritage Celebration Week from Monday 20th to Sunday 26th September. We need to engage a professional team to manage the traffic on the extremely dangerous stretch of the A259 between Seaford and Newhaven. Despite huge support from local volunteers, this is an afea that needs specialist traffic management experts. This is the reason we are asking the wider community for help.
Please help us to bring Tide Mills back to life ...

The "LYT" Vision
Our vision is to give young people life changing opportunities that would not otherwise be available to them. LYT Productions is a not-for-profit community organisation offering high quality event production services to a large variety of clients.

What makes us different
What sets us apart from others is our vision for vocational training in real life production and event environments, where our members are mentored and overseen by industry professionals to learn new skills ‘on the job’.

Our young team
Our event crew is made up of young people aged 18-28 and from a diverse mix of backgrounds. For our members, being a part of LYT means gaining valuable life, social and professional skills, underpinned by our core values.
The work they do is essential to their self esteem, sense of belonging, being given opportunities and working as a team. We are a fully inclusive organisation and strive to make all our events fully inclusive too.

Testimonial from Julia Roberts - associate director of Culture Shift
"Working with LYT was a fantastic decision for us at the ‘Every Sort of People Festival’. Not only did the LYT ethos of inclusivity and creative opportunity fit perfectly with our vision, they also delivered a production team of the highest quality, with limitless energy and enthusiasm."

East Sussex Community Wellbeing Fund has provided £2,500 of match funding
