To ensure we can continue to provide our core service of supporting individuals into work through the provision of free interview outfits.
What do we do?
We give people the tools to succeed!
At The Suit Works we increase employability through the provision of personal styling, interview coaching and work experience. Often people experiencing unemployment will not have the finances to be able to afford to buy interview clothes or appropriate clothes to wear for work. The need for our service continues to grow because of the current cost of living crisis. People who are experiencing unemployment will often need interview coaching to help them be interview ready. We provide this coaching alongside their personal styling session. For clients that are struggling to secure a role, we provide volunteer placements to support them with developing their skills and confidence to maximise their future chances of employment.
How do we do this?
We provide a welcoming, friendly environment where clients come in f
or a styling session and are given a suitable outfit for their interview, as well as some thoughtful advice, and if needed interview training skills. We receive referrals from over 40 Charites and organisations around the Sheffield City Region and have seen over 970 clients to date.
A clients
appointment at The Suit Works lasts for about an hour. Our volunteer stylists help them to find clothing that fits well, looks great and instills confidence. The service is free and they get to keep the clothes. We can also help with providing a capsule wardrobe, if smart clothing is required, once the client has successfully found work.
The service provided by The Suit Works is an important step in removing a basic barrier to employment and helping people back into employment during the cost of living crisis.
What will we spend the money on?
Put simply; we want to continue providing our unique amazing service and ensure we are equipped to deal with the increase in referrals. To do this we need to ensure we continue to cover our core costs. We are also impacted by the cost of living crisis and we have understandably seen a decrease in donations and grant funding.
All money raised will ensure we are able to cover our core (staff and rent) costs to ensure we can move forward to work to become more sustainable in this ever changing world.
