Aim
An independent subscription box focused on creating a free advertising platform for creators and business owners in the vintage community.
Why?
Britain loves vintage. From art work to artefacts, our collective love of nostalgia inspires a whole industry of makers and creators- the vintage community is creative, vibrant, innovative, and varied. This is why I want to create a new and exciting subscription box experience that supports as many of these small businesses and creative individuals as possible, as well as persuing my own passion for selling vintage.
How?
The Shoorah! Box is a community focused venture and it will include work from one independent artist or creator a month. My vision is to build a thriving platform with a spotlight for small businesses that specialise in vintage inspired content. Be it through collaborations, coupons, samples, interviews, tutorials, giveaways or just a good old fashioned advert on a blog- I want to create a spotlight with the momentum and to build creatives up and carry businesses forward. I want to inspire a spark in the community that values shopping small, and celebrates vibrancy.
Going Forward...
Aside from the usual business startup costs such as buying stock and packaging materials, the money I raise will go towards establishing connections with designers and creators and getting the ball rolling on collaborations. This means having a capital to financially support as well as a social following for advertising and spreading the word.
I would like 6 months worth of content organised before I launch the subscription box. therefore in November 2020 I will be doing a pre-launch of themed limited edition gift boxes, just in time for Christmas. They will include exciting vintage and I already have some amazing collaborations in the pipeline. By doing it this way I bring attention and spread the word of The Shoorah! Box, scope interest in what my customer base really wants, and get everyone excited for what is to come.
In conclusion:
The more we raise, the more incredible small businesses can be included in The Shoorah! Box. There is already so much interest from people wanting to get involved, and I would love to be able to work with each and every person.
