The School Run in aid of the Adam Mallon Fund

Aim
The School Run is an inter island event where pupils run from quay to school across the four island bases for charity.
The fund was set up as a means of raising money for the pupils of the Five Islands Academy and named after Adam Mallon, a local man who sadly lost his life in 2007.
It’s aims are to help improve facilities and opportunities within sport for all pupils in the school and to encourage and inspire more pupils to take part and compete on the mainland. It all started with the Garrison Sports and music festivals run by Mr M Twynham and Mr M Songhurst and has now become one of the most popular charities on the islands.
The fund has supported individual pupils access mainland events such as county athletic, cricket and tennis competitions. Most recently it has been used to purchase Ergo rowing machines so that our pupils can train for pilot gig rowing events and enter UK online competitions.
The School Run event is the first of its kind and we hope children raise as much money as possible to continue to support the fund.
