Aim
We’re building six clean, secure homes so women and children fleeing domestic and honour abuse can choose safety, dignity, and a fresh start
My name is Nina Aouilk. I am an activist, international speaker and survivor who now uses my voice to protect women and children at risk of domestic abuse and honour-based violence.
Ten years ago, I escaped an attempted murder and became homeless with my son.
I rebuilt my life from nothing and promised myself that one day I would create the safe space we never had.
That promise has become The Safe Six Project. I am creating six secure homes in Leicestershire for women and their children escaping abuse. A place where fear ends. Where safety begins. Where dignity and compassion are at the heart of life again.
In one year after a viral video, my non-profit End Honour Killings Org helped support over 16,000 victims, some with the aid of the police. The most common problem was that they had nowhere to go.
The Safe Six Project will provide a solution, and as its temporary emergency housing, it will go on to help a further six women and their children, and so forth.
Phase 1 has already been funded, providing the site and extensive planning permission for my non-profit. This stage has cost £650,000
Phase 2 has been funded, which has cost £70,000 to complete designs and meet the initial planning requirements for the homes.
Phase 3 is the conversion into six safe homes, estimated to cost £700,000. The cost of the chosen Contractor Company and the Project Manager to complete the homes. Plaster, Paint, Plumbing, Electrical work, Bathrooms, Kitchens and so forth are all expenses needed to create the project into a reality.
I have invested personally, even selling my car to keep the project going. But I cannot finish this alone. I need your help.
I am here because I am looking for aligned partners, sponsors and supporters who want to stand beside me and help bring these six safe homes to life. Your support will change real lives. Six families at a time. Six chances for freedom. Six futures rebuilt. The chances many often didn’t have.
My work with End Honour Killings Org is not a role. It is my calling. Together, we can protect women and their children before tragedy happens and create the world we all deserve to live in.
This is my “why”, this is the reason I’m still here on this earth when I most definitely shouldn’t be. It’s my passion project. I would love for it to be yours, too.
