During our period of closure due to Covid-19, we are busy taking care of the fascinating historic buildings and abundant nature and wildlife on our site of special scientific interest (SSSI). As you can imagine, with a site of 170 acres this is a huge undertaking while we have no income.
For example, we have a magnificent herd of fallow deer living here all year round which our visitors enjoy spotting on our walking tours, tractor trailer rides and school visits.
Throughout the winter months, we have a weekly feeding programme as they can’t get the nutrition they require naturally here and can’t move to other locations. We supplement feed them with haylage, deer cubes and carrots (their favourite).
Can you help us to care for our herd and for our site during this difficult time? We are without income until we can welcome visitors back on in 2021.
We very much look forward to welcoming everyone back next year to the heritage, history and nature that we love to share.
Thank you for your support.
