The Road to Ketton Sports appeal aims to raise funds to re-surface the 150-metre entrance road

Project by KETTON SPORTS AND COMMUNITY CENTRE

KSCC have launched the ‘Road to Ketton Sports’ appeal to raise funds to re-surface the 150-metre entrance road into the complex, and we need your help.

Any financial aid you can contribute to the cost which we expect to be in excess of £30,000, will be greatly appreciated.

The single track road which borders the cricket field boundary - from the Pit Lane entrance to the gravelled car park - provides access throughout the year to hundreds of sports-mad children as well as adults looking to use and support our wide range of recreation facilities for the whole family.

Ketton Sports & Community Centre is run by volunteers, and is a diverse and inclusive centre of excellence for cricket, football, bowls, tennis, Pétanque and children’s triathlon, providing hours of enjoyment for participants aged from five to 95.

We are also the local hub for the Ketton Healthy Walking Group, bereavement counselling, Parkinson’s Disease Group and a blood donation centre, we also provide provision and facilities for local schools (sports days, leavers parties etc) local charity fund-raising and we also operate as a wedding and party venue.

The condition of the roadway is proving a hazard to the constant flow of traffic that uses it every day of the year and could lead to damage claims against the complex. We need help in providing a permanent solution - ideally a tarmacadam surface which will last and be easier to maintain through all weathers.
