Aim
Free online Islamic education for 500+ students across six continents - and we're building for thousands more.
Every day, students from around the world log on to memorise and recite the Quran. For free. No fees, no barriers, no conditions.
That's what The Quran Group is - a free online Islamic education community, now officially a UK Community Interest Company, built entirely by volunteers and run for the sake of Allah.
Where we are
500+ students across six continents, served by 16 volunteer scholars and teachers giving their time fi sabilillah alongside full-time jobs and busy lives. What started as free hifdh classes has grown into a full programme of Islamic education.
What we run
Our Hifdh classes run daily - one-to-one teacher attention, students working through Quran memorisation at their own pace.
Alongside hifdh, we run independent classes in Arabic, Seerah, Tafseer, and Tajweed, open to any student who wants to join.
And we're now running the Sannatayn programme - a 17-week structured curriculum covering Seerah, Tafseer, Fiqh, Hadith, Aqaaid, Adab, and Arabic. Free for every student who enrols.
Every class is recorded so students can revisit lessons. Teachers are matched to students from their own region and timezone where possible.
On our teachers
Our teachers volunteer their time fi sabilillah. For our Sannatayn programme specifically, we offer a small monthly hadiyah as a token of appreciation for the structured weekly commitment - this isn't payment in the salaried sense, it's a gesture of gratitude in the islamic tradition of hadiyah. They remain volunteers giving their time for the sake of Allah.
Why we need your support
We're not fighting to stay alive. We're fighting to expand properly.
500 students is the start, not the destination. To serve thousands, our platform has to grow with us. We're currently rebuilding our website from scratch - built for scale, ready for the next 5,000 students. Our developers are giving their time fi sabilillah, but the running costs are real:
- Platform infrastructure: hosting, security, database
-Teacher support and tools: meeting subscriptions, communication tools, hadiyah for our Sannatayn scholars
- Content and outreach: AI tools for management, content production, scheduling
These are what keep the lights on every day. The teaching stays free, always. Your support is what makes that promise possible.
What your donation does
£6 sustains one teacher for a month. That's roughly the cost of one teacher's online meeting subscription - the tool they use to host their class.
£30 sustains five teachers.
£60 sustains ten.

The reward
The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it."
When you donate to a student learning the Quran, you share in the reward of every ayah they recite. When that student teaches another, your reward continues through them. That's sadaqah jariyah - ongoing reward, generation after generation.
