On 5th June, 32 recreational cyclists are forming the first Purpose Peloton, a new chapter in the Legacy 300 One Sporting World project that has raised over £659K for good causes.
The riders have already personally donated over £10K to 11 different charities, but prompted by a suggestion from a couple of cyclists who cannot make it to Glasgow this September, we are using the day's unique challenge to support the five cancer charities involved in TourDe4.
THE IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGE?
The riders are taking part in the Beat the Medallist flying lap challenge, trying to beat Chris Hoys sprint time from 2012 (adjusted to the 250 metre distance they will be riding) and that on the day of the host GB Medallist.
Your friend has asked you for donations, which will not only support the five charities but also give them bonus seconds to help them Beat the Medallists. (they need all the help you can give them).
AS SINCE 2012; THE GB ATHLETES WILL MULTIPLY YOUR DONATIONS.
The charities will receive places to future Athlete hosted events that your generous donations have funded which can then be auctioned off at a great profit. Good causes have received £660K in donations from these days.
As stated, these Athlete Experience Days have raised over £660K for good causes, and this includes some of the charities we are looking to support in 2025, the following is from our archive detailing how much places cost, how much they raised, illustrating why we are going down the crowdfunder route, providing free places to charity auctions so they multiply your donations as illustrated by these Cycling places sold by cancer charities (figures supplied by auction party).
Please note Good Causes ALWAYS receive MORE THAN 100% of your donation. Last Autumn, an average of 257% of every £1 donation was recorded.
Please see the main page here for details on how this has worked for the last 13 years. The charities will receive equal places and should they not sell, we will allocate these places to other local cancer charities.
Those who donate £5 to £25 will also be given matching discounts on unique Athlete Experiences, Event Tickets and lifetime entries into regular prize draws to win places on your choice of Night Outs in your location, Athlete Experience Days, signed memorabilia or event tickets.
