Aim
A newly formed steel band in a rural area looking to expand.
11 years ago when I moved to Lincolnshire I said that one day I would set up a steel band to bring these incredible instruments to this area.
Earlier this year I spent my life savings on a set of steel pans, started the project and hey presto, it took off.
I had lots of media interest as this is the only steel band in the area and the result is that I have a group of 10 people, ranging from 12 upwards, many of who have never played a musical instrument in their life.
We have outgrown our original set of 7 instruments and would love some more so that everybody can have their own pans.
£650 will buy us one instrument.
