We're still collecting donations
On the 14th July 2023 we'd raised £15,005 with 81 supporters in 109 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Transforming one of the oldest Cricket Clubs in North Wales into a modern, accessible and inclusive community hub for the local community.

On the 14th July 2023 we'd raised £15,005 with 81 supporters in 109 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We will use any additional funding to ensure that the Community Hub is furnished with the best facilities available to support local residents. Specifically, we could fund a kitchen area to provide more opportunities for hosting and providing more social opportunities.
Gwersyllt Park Cricket Club has grown in importance as part of the local community. We now have over 700 members who attend our club to socialise throughout the year. The cricket opportunities for so many of our local community has increased dramatically over the past 10 years. In addition to our main adult Saturday teams, we now have a disabled cricket squad (the centre of disabled cricket in the Wrexham area), a female cricket team and youth cricket teams across the 4 key age ranges (U9s, 11s, 13s and 15s), as well as a new Sunday 3XI team. Working with our strategic partners Cricket Wales, the ECB, Active Wrexham, Wrexham County Borough Council, we will be significantly increasing our sporting offer to provide more opportunities for women and girls across the local area.
We are undertaking this fundraising endeavour to deliver a combined Community Hub and new, state-of-the-art cricket pavilion, to deliver a wide-range of benefits to our local residents in social, wellness and sporting terms.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Purchase an engraved brick tile. You have the opportunity to leave a permanent mark within our new facilities.
3. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
4. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
As you are aware, work has commenced on our new Community Hub and cricket pavilion and your previous efforts got us off the ground with enough money to complete the facility. This time we are focussing on delivering the services for the community by fundraising for some of the internals we had to value engineer out of the original design due to increased inflation.
Specifically, we are looking to raise money for a digital IT conference suite which we will use to run courses for local residents such as digital, numeracy, first aid and wellbeing. This facility will also be used by local businesses and charities as a meeting space and networking hub; therefore, these facilities will be crucial in delivering all of the above services.
The second element of these funds will be used to procure the changing room furniture for the teams, and install a kitchen into the facility to provide catering services to local residents. This kitchen area will also be used to host GPCC's various cricket teams, as well as their opponents during matches, whilst also being used to host national matches to increase the exposure of the club, local area and Wrexham.
