We need your help to take The Old Queen's Head to the Edinburgh Fringe - to share this funny and uplifting show with a wider audience!
THE SHOW
David Patterson and the team at Jumpsuit Productions are raising £5,000 to support their debut production at the Edinburgh Fringe 2024. After a 5-star run in London, they are poised to take full advantage of the unique platform offered by the world’s largest arts festival, and can’t wait to take this hilarious, heartfelt and uplifting show to the next level - BUT, they need your help to do it.
THE OLD QUEEN’S HEAD
Written and Performed by David Patterson
1pm, The Box, Assembly, 31st July - 22nd August
Who’s your go to? Your ride or die? Your best friend? Your mum? Not David. His is the late Queen Elizabeth II, obviously.
Listening to Lizzie has always kept David safe. Until now. Having tasted the sweet nectar of queer life, David stands at a crossroads. In the face of a brutal break-up, David is forced to question a lifetime’s advice to never be ‘too much, too obvious, too different’. Will David follow his inner voice or heed the guidance of his royal confidant?
Only one Queen can prevail.

Nominated for the London Pub Theatre awards in the Outstanding Solo Show category.
★★★★★ ‘A captivating performance with a wealth of humour... an experience to cherish’ – BROADWAY BABY
★★★★(and a half!) ‘An impeccable show’ – LONDON PUB THEATRES MAGAZINE
WHY WE NEED YOU
The Edinburgh Fringe is the greatest stage for new and emerging talent. However, it’s incredibly expensive to produce good theatre and pay the talented creatives for their hard work. This year, like many other companies, we've lost out on vital funding that keeps our work going. and so it’s to generous people like you that we must turn to for help. The show is entirely self-funded, and so every penny we raise will go towards easing the burden of paying for the work.
Costs we have to cover include:
By getting us to the Fringe, you’ll be giving us the chance to showcase our work at the world’s largest arts festival but also a chance to network and develop relationships with future partners, collaborators and creatives alike.
A NOTE ON FEES
We believe it’s vital that people are properly paid for the work they do. However, in the early days getting any endeavor off of the ground requires financial support. Some members of The Old Queen’s Head show team have generously chosen to forgo their fees, and we're extremely moved by their dedication to bring our production to life.
However, aside from the writer / performer and director, we are committed to ensuring that everyone, from the talented technicians to the hardworking behind-the-scenes crew, receives the support and appreciation they deserve for their invaluable contributions. Your donations will help us achieve this goal, allowing us to produce a remarkable show while remunerating the efforts of our team properly.
THE TEAM
Our dynamic Fringe show production boasts a talented and dedicated team, including a skilled director, an assistant director, a technician, a sound designer and a marketing manager, all working tirelessly to ensure a seamless and engaging performance. Leading the creative vision, David, our (by his own account - and those of critics) hilarious writer and performer, brings the story to life with his captivating script and compelling stage presence. Together, this exceptional team is committed to delivering an unforgettable theatrical experience.
REWARDS
We know that many of you are keen to help us get there and your support really does mean the world to us. We want to share this funny, uplifting and hopeful show with as wide an audience as possible
