Help us to bring the magic of live dance to children and families in 2021...
by Let's All Dance in London, England, United Kingdom
On the 6th January 2021 we'd raised £6,102 with 31 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
With any extra money we raise we will be able to pay our Artistic Dircetor, who never pays herself until all costs have been met, and also plan productions further into 2021.
Let's All Dance has been creating and touring professional ballet productions for family and young audiences since 2013. During this time, we have carved out a place for ourselves in the industry and we now have a strong and loyal audience following and a highly regarded reputation with venues and other colleagues.
We have always been totally self-sustaining with box office revenue forming the majority of our income, and merchandise sales topping things up. We have never received any public funding and have been totally viable.
This year, like all Arts companies, we have been hugely affected by COVID-19. Our early summer season was completely cancelled and, although we've managed to tour to outside spaces since August, the shows were extremely popular but not profitable.
We applied to the Arts Council England for an emergency grant but were unsuccessful, twice. With most of our autumn and Christmas season shows also cancelled, our ability to continue into 2021 is under threat.
We believe passionately that high quality, live theatre should be accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few. We want people from all backgrounds to be able to attend our shows and experience the benefits to their well-being and mental health that The Arts can bring. And this year we are acutely aware that everyone is in need of some joy to lift the spirits.
So without funding and not wanting to raise ticket prices and price many people out, we turn to you to help us bring the joy and magic of dance to thousands of children and families this Christmas and into next year; and to also ensure that our hard working, extremely talented and highly trained cast and crew continue to have an income.
