The Next Step Trust respite home

Aim

We have recently purchased a house in Halifax area which will be used as a respite facility for people with disabilities to be access.

On behalf of The Next Step Trust. We are a small charity in Halifax , West Yorkshire that was established in 2006 to support young adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs. The charity was set up by parents and its objective is to provide support to meet the needs of each person to live their lives to the full! The people we support have profound multiple disabilities and complex needs so they are limited to where they can go for a break.The existing repite facilities in the area dont always meet the needs of those who stay. So we want to make that difference and meet the needs.

We have purchased a house in the halifax area, this will provide families and carers with some relief as well as giving the people we support access to a change of setting. It will really make a difference to the lives of alot of people in the locaL community. The house is going to be adapted to meet the needs of those who will stay there. However, it does need equipping with furniture and other equipment.

We are holding an aution night to raise money for all the equipment we need and we are appealing for donations. If you could help us by providing anything we could put in our auction we would be extremely grateful, whether this is an item, your time or money to purchase the things we need. As we are a small charity we rely on donations to be able to support the young adults in our care and make their lives fulfilled.
