With additional funding we hope to be able to help more people, provide more affordable food and employ a full time project manager to ensure that the social supermarket is sustainable for the long term
Who are we?
We are a small team mostly volunteers, keen to work together with our local community, business, faith groups and anyone passionate about reducing food waste, addressing food poverty and eating healthily.
What is the progress so far?
November 2020 - fantastic news thanks to your donations and the hard work of our volunteers our supermarket is now open 3 days a week
We have received grants from Dorset County Council, Dorset Community Foundation, Weymouth Town Council, Tesco, Feeding Britain and Rotary, so we are delighted to be underway with our fundraising. The shop is now up and running but there is still a lot of work to do and we need your help.
How would we use your donation?
Your donation could help us provide training for new volunteers, contribute towards our shop rent and utilities or help to fund our one part time staff member who will support the volunteers, maintain consistency of service and ensure we are operating within environmental health and COVID-19 guidelines
Thank you so much for your interest in the project.
