The Mowlem Theatre Winter Appeal

Aim
Please help us raise £5000 to cover some of our lost income over this difficult winter period for theatres and cinemas.
As Covid impacts us all for the second Christmas in a row, theatres and cinemas across the UK are having to consider how viable it is to keep their doors open. At the time of writing we are seeing our audience numbers drop to a point that is simply unsustainable without additional help.
Since reopening last summer we’ve made every effort to run a vibrant and varied programme. Like theatres and cinemas everywhere our audiences have been reduced, but seeing the pleasure that a live performance or a film on the big screen brings makes all the effort worthwhile.
We are continuing to run our programme of films over the Christmas period and have reintroduced full social distancing for cinema screenings to keep everybody as safe as possible. Masks are also required while in the building, except when eating or drinking or while seated in the bar area. If audience numbers continue to reduce we will have to suspend our programme for a period of time, but if that happens, we know that our dedicated staff and our team of Trustees will continue to work behind the scenes to keep improving The Mowlem on your behalf.
To tide us over this difficult period we need to ask for donations. We have launched this appeal with the hopes of raising £5000 to cover some of the lost income over the winter period. These funds will keep our staff employed and the building maintained, and any funds left over will go towards continued improvements and repairs.
If you can afford to help we will be most grateful. If you can’t, but you want to support The Mowlem, please pass this appeal on to family and friends, and please do look out for the volunteering opportunities which we plan to launch in the New Year!
