The Hub is a space for groups, individuals and communities to come together to tackle the crises of climate, nature and the cost-of living.
Mid-Cornwall Climate and Eco Hub was set up as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in autumn 2023 by us, a group of locals, concerned about the climate, nature and cost-of-living crises. We were aware of the immediacy of the problems and their interconnected nature and wanted to provide a warm and welcoming physical space where individuals, groups and organisations can share information and come together to work on solutions.
There are many groups working on climate and nature projects across Mid-Cornwall, ranging across sustainable food production, restorative farming, woodland management, renewable energy, energy efficiency, low-carbon transport, the marine environment and water pollution to name just a few. Providing a Hub, enables groups active in these areas to share their work, become more visible and recruit volunteers.
It is also a place where everyone in the community can learn about the problems we face and understand the changes we all need to make in our lives and communities.
Facing problems related to the climate and biodiversity loss can be frightening. By coming together and sharing, people can find support and a sense of community and even of hope through action.
So far we have had over 200 people use the hub for meetings, conversations, information and attending our programme of regular events. Including:
We need to raise money to continue running and developing our work,
Please donate and support us.
With funding we can create a dynamic calendar of events and reach out to a wider audience.
Thank you.
