We are Lejla Please Tell My Story CIC, a non profit organisation dedicated to providing access to therapy for survivors of domestic abuse within our community. Our goal is to raise £30,000 to kickstart our therapeutic recovery programme, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder our community from receiving the support they need.
Statistics Speak
Did you know that 87% (N=236) of the LPTMS community expressed that they cannot afford therapy, therefore their access is majorly restricted or non-existent due to finances? And that 41% (N=185) of our service users had attempted suicide as a direct result of domestic abuse! These statistics highlight the urgent need to bridge the gap and provide essential mental health support to survivors who are seeking healing and recovery.
Funding
Through the generosity of our supporters and community, we aim to raise £30,000. This target amount will cover the start-up costs of the scheme, including collaboration with therapists, setting up infrastructure, and providing essential resources to our service users.
OUR FIRST UPDATE:
Thanks to your incredible support, we've already raised £1130, but our goal is to reach £30,000 to ensure that we can successfully get the scheme off the ground and that financial barriers never stand in the way of our community's path to healing, thriving, and reintegrating into society.
Due to the donations already received we have been able to develop the programme even further to encompass a more effective and comprehensive programme that can provide access to therapy, community support and life skill workshops.
Therapy Sessions
With the funds raised, we will partner with therapists specialising in trauma and domestic abuse. These therapists will offer confidential and personalised therapy sessions to our service users, tailoring the approach to meet their unique needs and experiences.
Flexible and Tailored Approach
The programme will offer various therapeutic modalities. We understand that everyone's healing journey is unique, and we will work closely with each service user to determine the best approach that suits their specific requirements.
Empowering Survivors
Therapy and community plays a crucial role in the recovery journey of survivors. By offering access to the recovery programme, we empower survivors to navigate the emotional and psychological impacts of domestic abuse, promoting a happier, healthier life and empowering them to thrive in the world.
Long-lasting Impact
The positive effects of therapy and community support extend far beyond the sessions. Our aim is to create lasting changes in the lives of our service users. We believe in equipping survivors with the tools and strategies they need to overcome challenges and build healthier futures.
