 New stretch target

We've set a stretch target of £3000, so that we can extend this project to other boroughs in North London.

If we achieve this, then there'll be another 70 schools who'll benefit from this Crowdfunder.

Wouldn't that be amazing!

Inspired by Jane Beaton’s wonderful Crowdfunder to get a copy of The Lost Words by Jackie Morris and Robert MacFarlane into every Primary School in Scotland, we’d like to see a similar thing happen for every primary school in Haringey.

All over the country, there are words disappearing from children's lives. These are the words of the natural world - Dandelion, Otter, Bramble and Acorn, all gone.

The Lost Words stands against the disappearance of wild childhood. It is a joyful celebration of nature words and the natural world they invoke.

I cannot remember a book like this and it’s absolutely essential reading.

Haringey is one of London’s poorest boroughs and we think it’d be wonderful if we could achieve this goal.

There are around 80 primary schools in Haringey, so our target is £1,600.

As well as the book, we’ll be supplying the schools with “An Explorers Guide to The Lost Words” a fantastic accompanying resource to help teachers get the most out of the book.

With Crowdfunder, we have to achieve our target or no money is taken from our supporters and the project will not be funded. But if we over achieve, then we’ll be able to look at providing schools in other boroughs in London.

Similar projects have happened around the country and we’d love it if we could make our target. Please, if you can, support this initiative.

Got an idea like this?

Over £200 million has been raised from our crowd to support the projects they love! Plus tens of millions more unlocked by our partners.
