The London Hammam Project

Aim

Help me bring an authentic Moroccan hammam back to London, a welcoming space for wellness, culture, connection and community.

My name is Cher, and I’m a Moroccan-British entrepreneur with a lifelong passion for Moroccan culture, wellness and the traditional hammam.

In 2014, I founded Moroccan Essentials, sharing authentic Moroccan beauty and bathing traditions with people across the UK. I later opened my own Moroccan hammam in central London, where I saw first-hand how powerful the hammam experience can be  a treatment, a place to slow down, connect and feel cared for.

Although my first hammam closed in 2025, I never lost the dream of bringing it back. I had built something I was incredibly proud of, but circumstances outside my control meant I had to close. It was heartbreaking, but it also made me realise that if I was going to build this dream again, I wanted to create something that was truly my own. The other hammam was not mine.

I want to create a beautiful, authentic Moroccan hammam in London a welcoming space where people from all backgrounds can experience traditional Moroccan wellness, discover the culture, the ritual, our beautiful sacred healing traditions and come together as a community.

My initial fundraising target is £50,000. This will give me the foundation I need to take the project from an idea to a real space, helping towards securing and preparing the premises, specialist hammam equipment, essential facilities, Moroccan-inspired interiors and the initial costs of opening. It is an important first step towards creating the hammam I have envisioned.

Support me to bringing a piece of Moroccan culture and hospitality to London and creating a space where people can relax, reconnect and feel welcome and super nourished in and out.

I’ve built this dream before but the hammam was not mine. Now I’m asking my community to help me bring it back my own hammam bigger, better and built to last.
