Aim

The Leadmill Relocation Fund aims to raise money for a new home.

In June 2025, we hosted our last gig at the building that we'd called home for 45 years. More than 10 million of you came through those doors for first gigs, packed dance floors and late nights you'll never quite forget.

We lost the building through eviction but we didn't lose what made it matter. Now we’re looking ahead and we need your help to find a new home. 

We’re inviting the people who have shaped our story to be part of what comes next, by creating a living archive of The Leadmill, shaped by the special moments that happened inside those original walls.

The Leadmill has always been more than a venue, it’s been a place of memories. 

Where you had a laugh with Nev on the door. Where you drank more Cheeky Vimtos than you’d ever like to admit. Where you discovered bands before anyone else had heard of them.

Where strangers became friends and sometimes much more than that. Where you sang your heart out on a Saturday night to Adam Morley’s bangin indie DJ sets. Where you danced all night, drank your body weight in Red Stripe and somehow did it all again the next week. 

Where you stood in a crowd and felt part of something bigger. Where the back room came alive at Beat Club and the dance moves got bolder as the night went on. Where you probably tried your first cigarette in the smoking area.

For some, it was the soundtrack to growing up. For others, it was a sanctuary from the world outside. A place where you could be completely yourself, no questions asked.

And somewhere in all of that… we want to hear your story. 

When you support this campaign, you’ll be invited to share your memory - Whether it's one big moment or lots of small ones, we want to hear them.

The installations will be based around:

• A Leadmill Memory Wall featuring names and quotes from supporters
• Digital displays showcasing photos and stories from across the years
• A curated archive of voices, moments and memories, including your recorded messages woven throughout the space

To take part, simply donate £10 or more to this crowd funder and leave your name and message on the page. If you’ve already donated £10 or more, you’re automatically included.
