For millennia, this iconic keystone species has captured our hearts and imaginations through song, poetry and art.
It has provided both sustenance and worship for communities, and been a rare prize for recreational anglers for centuries.
Most importantly it is now a vital indicator species in our fight against climate change.
Jim Murray MBE, actor, artist & activist, is a vociferous campaigner against water pollution and salmon farming and he wants to raise awareness about the plight of the wild salmon through his podcast series, The Last Salmon.
Season 2 will be launching in the summer with another 12 incredible episodes finding out about the problems, the stories and most importantly, the solutions to help save the wild salmon.
Thanks to you Season 1 is in the top 10% listened to podcasts globally, but to truly make a difference and stop the demise of this iconic, keystone species we need to spread awareness even more.
The Last Salmon needs to find a much bigger audience, cast its voice farther and wider, and to let as many people know about the destruction that salmon farming and climate change is having on wild salmon.
The Last Salmon is looking to raise £9500 to amplify its message by means of a professional marketing and advertising campaign that will help raise awareness about the plight of the wild salmon and offer solutions to ensure its survival.
Awareness and understanding is everything in conservation.
