Your support makes a difference
ND and Queer affirming trauma informed preventative & spiralling perinatal mental health support for parents, carers & surrogates.

I am Jen, an Occupational Therapist, certified coach - and a queer neurodivergent bio and non bio mummy to two amazing donor conceived children. I started OT Intuition because the current perinatal support system is failing so many of us. Most services are built on the assumption that every family is neurotypical and looks the same, which leaves a massive gap for neurodivergent parents, LGBTQIA+ families, surrogates, and carers.
Whether you are navigating fertility struggles, perinatal OCD, adoption, or the intense transition of those first 1,001 days and beyond, you deserve support that actually understands your identity and your unique needs. OT Intuition is a trauma informed membership built to provide exactly that. Through my podcast, 1:1 therapy sessions, and our digital membership, I offer practical, affirming tools that work for our brains and our lives.
I am raising funds to launch a Pay It Forward scheme. This will allow us to provide free memberships, specialist 1:1 therapy, and nervous system and mental health kits to low income individuals. I have plans to expand to training professionals and those supporting and working within families and surrogates. I will continue to extend the value of what care looks like for our marginalised community. This includes those planning conception, parents, carers, and surrogates seeking preventative support or facing an impending spiralling illness. This is especially supportive for the those in NICU, thise homelessness, or being a young parent. By supporting this Crowdfunder, you are helping to bridge the therapy gap. You are making sure that accessing support and a sense of safety isn't just a luxury for those who can afford it. No human, whether you are a parent to be, a carer, or a surrogate, should have to navigate this journey feeling invisible or alone.
You can find out more about what we do at otintuition.co.uk/home. I am currently in the process of updating the website to fully integrate this new scheme and the digital badges, so please bear with me while those final pieces come together. Your support means we can move away from a one size fits all approach and build a community where everyone is seen and supported. If you can afford 1:1 sessions and membership fees, you are also invited to pay for a session for a low income individual. In return, you will earn a digital supporter badge to show your commitment to inclusive care.
OT Intuition provides nervous system support through on demand training, community spaces, and 1:1 specialist sessions. We specifically bridge the gap between your initial GP visit and the long waitlists for specialist mental health services. If you are navigating anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, or panic attacks, we provide the functional strategies you need to stay regulated and safe in your daily life.
I view parenting as a vital occupation. It is a complex role that requires specific support, especially when your brain works differently. I also recognise that the transition of matrescence and patrescence is valid for everyone. This includes surrogates, birthing parents, and non-birthing parents. These identity shifts are not just for mothers or birthing people; they are deeply human experiences that deserve to be honoured and supported.
My approach is built on practices such as (but not limited to) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Theory, and Sensory Processing. I help you understand your nervous system states and how your body reacts to stress, while using ACT to manage the heavy thoughts that come with parenting. Because I am an Occupational Therapist, we also look at your sensory needs, routines, valued occupational identity other than parenting - and how your environment affects your brain so your daily life feels less overwhelming.
It is important to be clear that this is not a high level medical or psychiatric service. We do not provide the support that requires NHS involvement, a specialist psychologist team, or inpatient care for those at immediate risk of harm. We cannot facilitate the detaining of individuals for their own safety. If you are in a situation where you or someone else is in physical danger, you must contact emergency services or your local NHS crisis team immediately.
Our focus is on providing the inclusive and validating trauma informed education and tools that the system often misses. We help you manage the functional impact of your mental health while you wait for or move through statutory care. We make sure that waiting for a specialist does not mean struggling alone without a toolkit. We also offer training for providers to ensure the wider workforce is equipped with affirming, inclusive, and trauma informed practices.
