Project by KINGDOM FAITH YORKSHIRE TRUST
On the 8th October 2022 we'd raised £11,677 with 45 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The extra money will enable us to employ our staff as our income regrows and further money will enable the work of the Community Angels. The Community Angels expand our work into the homes and businesses in Scarborough - visiting and supporting people directly in their own locations.
A local project for local people
We are local people connecting with local people to enable lives to be lived to the full. We run the Summit building in Scarborough, where you can find the Hub Cafe and Creche - a safe, welcoming place for everyone. We are about connecting people, helping people to overcome loneliness and social isolation, to develop resilience and strengthen mental health. We like to out a small on people's faces. We want to help make the Scarborough area a better place to live.
A safe place
As well as being a welcoming, safe place to meet, the Hub further enables projects such as Community Angels, Little Builders (preschool children), Friday Club (primary schools), Cavern Club (Over 60s and more vulnerable), a safe place for refugees and other community initiatives - all run by people living in the area.
The Hub Cafe is popular with a diverse group of people, but those with physical and mental special needs find it particularly comfortable and welcoming.
The Creche - alongside the Cafe and the Little Builders project make the Hub very popular with parents of young children.
Scarborough is a seaside town and has excellent provision for our wonderful visitors. We love all out local cafes and restaurants, but we aim to provide local people with something that primarily meets their needs.
The money raised through this project will be used to enable to Hub & Creche to grow, develop and connect with the wider community. As we recover from the Lockdown these funds will enable this project to establish itself and step firmly into the future providing for local people for many years to come.
