Be part of the Heron Theatre's next chapter 

The Heron Theatre is a small (79 seats), much-loved rural theatre in Beetham, Cumbria, run entirely by volunteers. For over 25 years it has been bringing people together to enjoy professional drama,  music, films and art, as well as providing a welcoming  venue for local groups, schools and community events.

But some of the theatre’s facilities are now showing their age. Our toilets, foyer, bar and kitchen are all in need of renovation, plus our heating is outdated and inefficient. We want to make the theatre more welcoming, comfortable and accessible for everyone who uses it – audiences, performers and volunteers alike.

Whilst we have received some grant money that will cover the bulk of the costs we still need to raise funds. Your help with this will be hugely appreciated. Every donation, however large or small will help us improve the theatre and ensure it can continue to be part of our community for many more years to come.

We’re hoping to carry out the renovation work in summer 2027.
