The Cause
In February 2023, at 22 weeks pregnant and 38 years old, Kate was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. While undergoing chemotherapy, her cancer tragically metastasised, spreading to her neck and affecting the bones, which resulted in a fracture. Following surgery, at 33 weeks pregnant, Kate received the heartbreaking news that her cancer was now stage 4 and considered incurable.
At 35 weeks, Kate’s daughter, Kaia, was born healthy and strong—a true warrior, just like her mother. Despite this life-altering diagnosis, Kate has taken on this fight with courage, focusing on creating as many precious memories as possible with her husband, Kriss, and their three young children: Kian, Kacia, and Kaia.
Throughout her journey, Kate has received invaluable support from charities dedicated to helping women facing breast cancer. Organisations like So Brave, Australia’s young women’s breast cancer charity, and Make 2nds Count, a UK-based charity supporting women with metastatic breast cancer, have provided tremendous comfort and resources.
All funds raised from this prize draw will go directly to these charities. Their work is essential, offering support and advancing research that makes a world of difference for women like Kate, who would otherwise face a much tougher journey alone.
