Help kick start this worthwhile wildlife conservation project. Prevent Species Extinction!

Yesterday, today, & tomorrow, natural wildlife habitats are fast dwindling all over the United Kingdom.Due mostly to pollution, climate change, & industrial, commercial, residential developments in many semi & rural area's of the UK. Natural habitats are now increasingly on the decline, & the surviving area's at dire risk of becoming forever smaller & isolated. The over-development of our modern world, with the addition of efficient, yet extremely aggressive & chemical farming techniques - To suit our 'need it better, need it now' lifestyles, has vastly seen the demise of our wildlife & its natural environment!Native animal numbers & their wild habitats are now at an unprecedented deteriation at both current official figures, & statistical forecasts.Just one example of this extreme decline is that our native bird numbers appear to have dramatically declined by as much as 40% in the last 8 years!Your natural environment & your fellow wildlife species really need your support right now!More so than ever before! Please consider helping us to realise our long term prevention aims.

ABOUT USWe are a small group of wildlife volunteers situated in the north of Cumbria. As is usually the case with most localised conservationists, we're overworked, over stretched, tightly resourced, & extremely under funded.95% of our efforts are generally funded from our own pockets, & all of our animal rescue, treatment and rehabilitation duties undertaken within our own homes & properties up to their release! We do what we can purely because we've become increasingly distressed at the undeniable signs of decline in wildlife numbers over the past two decades.Becoming genuinely alarmed at the total disappearance of local Badger sets, & the reduced numbers of small mammals. Including a suffering Deer & Raptor population. We were also recently saddened (despite all our best - but limited efforts) at the complete loss of a once thriving local Red Squirrel community. This was the last of a line of incidents which made us face up to the reality that our current status, budget & resources are too meagre to have a seriously defining impact - in terms of the local ecology.Finding ourselves increasingly agitated at the seemingly infinite decline in the numbers of wild bee's, butterflies, insects, native birds, amphibians, hedgehogs & a whole host of other mammals over the last 10-12 years.Whilst having to witness the growth in industrial/commercial & residential developments on once wild or agricultural land. Including heavy road use & infrastructure in the same period. In no way a mere coincidence, this we are certain of!The Cumbrian & Yorkshire floods have also taken its devastating toll on habitat & wildlife numbers. Now leaving us with a graceless dilemma of having to consider the physical risk factors of storm/weather & flood damage when assessing areas for relocation. We now find ourselves in need of public support to continue our personal conservation & wildlife rescue commitments, only now on a much wider professional & more efficient scale.Placing ourselves in a position where we no longer have to worry ourselves over limited resources, or face refusing animals from equally desperate groups slightly further afield.Becoming a centralised registered charity would enable us access to gift aid & other environment grants, expanding our rescue facilities & services. Whilst possibly allowing for extending our conservation schemes within neighbouring regions! Making for permanent & vital improvements to native animal habitats & their continued safety. From our unique ground level perspective it has become glaringly evident to us that unless we take serious & effective action right now, it will soon be too late to take any effective action at all! With the your support we look forward to doing invaluable work where it is very much needed! And together, push this much needed project nationwide with lasting positive effects! The facts of todays native species conservation - We are now at a critical junction which could easily take any number of the negative directions. Without real support & genuine dedication to reverse the current flow of our ecological status - things will without a doubt go the wrong way for us all. A sincere Thank you for your time, & for whatever shape of support you're able to offer! It all counts towards making a big difference! Please visit, like & share us on our Facebook page. N.B.On succession of our charitable status & online presence, all benefactors will have the option to be kept regularly informed by email of our progress & achievements. We also hope to be able to offer the opportunity to partake in our nature projects in some small way in the not too distant future. This project closed unsuccessfully on 21st April 2016
