To create a gentle, safe, supportive space in Leeds where children & families navigating grief can feel connected, supported and less alone
The Graceful Healing Space was created from personal loss, grief, love and the understanding that grief affects entire families, not just individuals. It unfortunately can tear families apart and they equally feel very alone.
After losing my dad Stephen in 2015 my world changed forever, then 5 years later to the date we lost my 11 year old niece Grace Lily, and grief hit us again but in an unimaginable way. I have also lost many others loved friends and family, and I saw first-hand how isolating grief can feel for both adults and children.
Families are often left trying to carry heartbreak whilst still managing everyday life, and many people simply do not have a safe space where they feel understood.
The Graceful Healing Space is a gentle community project based in Leeds offering free monthly sessions for children, parents, carers and families navigating grief together.
Our aim is to create a calm, welcoming environment where families can connect with others who understand, take part in creative activities, movement, honour loved ones and feel less alone.
Sessions will include:
• memory making activities
• creative crafts and journaling
• gentle grounding and movement
• conversation and connection
• refreshments and community support
• activities designed to help children and adults express feelings safely
This is not therapy.
This is community, compassion and connection.
Funds raised will help provide:
• venue support
• craft and memory-making resources
• refreshments and snacks
• sensory and wellbeing items
• safeguarding and training costs
• printed grief guides and resources
Our opening day takes place on Saturday 30th May 2026 10am - 12pm at The Imagination Station in Seacroft, Leeds, with monthly sessions beginning afterwards.
Every donation, share and message of support helps us build something meaningful for families navigating grief in our local community.
Thank you from the bottom f our hearts
