Hello! We are Maina and Zuza, two writers who met in London under a shared vision to create a short film about the city we both have a love/ hate relationship with.
London is is a city of opposites: equal parts concrete jungle, creative hub and playground. It feels like a place where reinvention and creation are inevitable, where you can be whatever and whomever you want. We've both found, however, that this can also be an incredibly lonely feeling. Whether you've grown up here or have moved to the city from far away lands, London feels like its constantly asking you to be a million different things all at once.
Our film explores this feeling and asks whether a self proclaimed 'outsider' can ever feel truly at home. We are lucky enough to share this project with a team of of likeminded international people who have all had to work out how to exist in this city without losing sense of themselves. It is through this shared passion that we have created 'the God's of London'.
At the moment, our film is fully self funded but we hope that through fundraising we can create something that people across London and the world will be able to resonate with. We're super proud of what we're creating and we want to do it justice with the best possible props and costumes!
