We're still collecting donations

On the 9th December 2022 we'd raised £5,925 with 81 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

After many years of people like you asking me if I’m going to write a book, I’ve finally finished my first draft. 

However, with the cost of living crisis, I don’t have the money to pay up front to get it printed and distributed.

I need your help to make this happen. 

My editor, who is a comms worker for a charity himself, has told me this book is ‘gold dust’. I really want as many people as possible to read this book. I know it’s going to help thousands of non-profits through the big economic storm that’s coming.

I wrote the Giving Code to explain as much as I can about how to do ‘values driven fundraising’. This is the best way I know to secure your future and bring queues of excited donors to your doors. It’s a system that helps you to:

  • Discover the values and motivations of your top tier donors
  • Motivate more people like them to give you their contact details
  • Build trust with these new supporters
  • Create compulsive giving habits that last a lifetime

So, I have a target to reach that scares me a little bit. I can’t get this book out there without your help. Any amount you can give, no matter how small, means a whole lot to me and will help get us over the line. 

The initial target amount of £5916 covers:

  • Getting the book professionally designed and typeset
  • Printing of 500 copies
  • Production costs for a proper e-book version
  • Expenses involved with getting trusted experts in the sector to review it initially

If I raise this amount I have a stretch target of £15971 which will allow me to:

  • Record, edit, produce and distribute an audiobook version
  • Publicise the book and make it available in all good bookshops by getting an ISBN number and so forth
  • Print 500 more copies
  • Create bonus content

Crowdfunder will take a small percentage of the fees you pay which goes towards the costs of running this platform and paying the credit card companies.

If I can’t use the money as intended - for example, it turns out that we can’t distribute the book as an audiobook for some reason, I will use the money to promote or enhance the book in other ways; perhaps making a visual version of it in video form. Anything I can do to help it reach more small non-profits.
