You can read more about Trudi's story and the amazing fundraising her children have already been involved in here:

In 2016, Trudi lost her husband and children's father to brain cancer. Years later, after trying to rebuild their lives, Trudi entered a new relationship that tragically became abusive.

On 17 February 2025, the abuse escalated into a devastating attack that broke Trudi’s neck, causing a complete spinal cord injury. She is now tetraplegic, with limited movement in her arms and no movement from the chest down.

Trudi spent three months in intensive care on a ventilator, followed by many months in a specialist spinal injuries unit. When she leaves hospital, she will need a fully accessible home, specialist equipment, a powered wheelchair, and a wheelchair-adapted vehicle to regain as much independence and dignity as possible.

While some support will come through the NHS, many essential adaptations and technologies are not covered. This fundraiser has been created to help provide the things that will make daily life possible for Trudi as she begins this new chapter.
