Aim
To support our elderly and vulnerable club members to keep warm this winter through advice and help, a warm place to meet and have hot food.
Here at BRCA we run the local community centre for residents of the Beeston Rylands area. We aim to provide groups and activities to reduce loneliness and isolation.
Our hall is a warm, safe place to come where our senior residents can pop in and always see a friendly face. On Tuesdays we have a 'knit, stitch and natter' group. Wednesdays is seated yoga, Thursdays is Tea and Chat, and our most popular club is Friday Club, where 25-30 residents come weekly for a hot dinner and pud! We have different entertainment each week. This might be local speakers, art activities, bingo or a quiz or live music!
Our residents tell us how much it means for them to have somewhere close by to go. Sometimes we give them lifts to the centre to make sure they can come.
All funds raised will go towards making sure the centre stays open as often as possible to provide warmth, food and company to our dear residents.
