The Fredericks Foundation Dry January Challenge

Aim

We are trying to raise funds to help the charity support the disabled, disadvantaged, or unemployed people to start their own small business

Lynne and I are undertaking The Fredericks Foundation Dry January Challenge. We will no doubt indulge far too much over the Christmas and New Year festivities and have decided to give up alcohol for the month of January. As most of you will know, this will be a great challenge for us both. We are not perfect and I will admit now that as Jan 22nd is our 48th wedding anniversary, we will succumb to having a glass or two to celebrate. To make up for this lapse we are fining ourselves £10 each, which we have already paid. At the end of January we will then donate all the money that we have saved during the month, by not having a drink, to the Fredericks Foundation a charity that I am greatly involved in as a volunteer and Trustee. All your sponsorship money kindly given will also be donated to the Foundation.The Fredericks Foundation is a charity ( No: 1086562) that provides loans to those people who are unable to gain finance from the normal channels to start their own businesses. These are normally the disabled, disadvantaged, unemployed or could be single mothers, ex-armed forces, ethnic minorities or even ex-offenders. They are people who want a 'hand up' and not a 'hand out' and want to rebuild their lives with dignity and hard work.Please give generously and any sponsorship no matter how small will help someone build their future. If you would like to undertake the challenge yourself please do let me know at [email protected]
