Where learning comes to life through horses. Through equine-based learning and therapy, students develop essential life skills and gain an education to enable them to live independent lives. The horse is at the heart of everything we do giving students transferable skills for life.

At Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy (FCRT), we empower young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to gain independence and build brighter futures. Through our unique three-year residential programme, students develop life skills, confidence, and practical abilities in maths and English, all through the therapeutic power of working with horses.
We teach essential skills that students can use across all areas of life, helping them thrive during their time with us and beyond. These are called transferable skills because they apply in various settings—work, home, and the community.
We achieve this through hands-on learning with horses, who play a unique and powerful role in the process.
The horses also provide unconditional emotional support, creating a calm and non-judgmental environment where students feel safe to grow. By connecting learning to real-world activities, students not only develop academic knowledge but also life-changing practical skills, emotional resilience, and confidence to face the future.
As a charity, we rely on donations to continue this life-changing work. Government funding covers the basics, but it’s your support that enables us to go further—providing tailored resources, maintaining our facilities, and ensuring each student gets the care and opportunities they deserve.
We are currently raising funds for a new horse trailer. Getting students and horses out and about is an essential part of college life and gives students and horses experiences that help their development. Our current trailer is reaching the end of its life and is in desperate need of replacing. We are hoping to raise £8,000 to buy a new one.
Every contribution helps transform lives, one step (and one hoof) at a time. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
