The Forgotten Lullaby - Short Film

Aim

We are crowdfunding for our graduate short film, 'The Forgotten Lullaby'. A film about the reconnection of a mother-daughter relationship.

Thank you for visiting our Crowdfunder page! We are final year film degree students creating The Forgotten Lullaby – a heartfelt short film exploring the fragile bond between a mother and her young daughter, and how music helps them reconnect.

The Story:

Our story follows Dana, a tired single mother who feels she has lost her spark. Once a fun-loving guitarist with a carefree spirit, Dana’s troublesome daughter Madeline is challenging her in ways she never expected.

Seven-year-old Madeline is overwhelmed too, acting out and throwing tantrums that only deepen the rift between her and her mother.

Underneath it all, Dana and Madeline both just want to be understood, to find the connection they have lost, and to feel close again.

It all leads to one moment – will music bring them back together, or has the lullaby been truly forgotten?

Why We Need Your Help:

This is our graduate film, and we want it to be something we are proud of, and something that does the story justice.

We have spent the last 2 years of our degree dedicating all of our time and energy into developing our skills and maintaining our passion for filmmaking – now, we get to create a film that is a culmination of all we have learnt and experienced so far!

But to create a film that truly does our story justice, we need support with locations, equipment, set design, costumes, travel, actors, and festival submissions.

Giving Back Part One - Gingerbread Charity

If we meet our production target, half of any additional funds we raise will be donated to Gingerbread, a charity that supports single parents and the families they work so hard to raise.

Apollo, a valued member of our crew and friend group, is raising money for his top surgery. The other half of any additional funds we raise will go towards his fundraiser, ‘Get This Off My Chest’.
