The Flag of Liberty: A True History of the Most Notorious Pirates is a children's history-from-below book. A more realistic retelling of the standard Hollywood pirate story, based on true historical accounts of life at sea, that will give young readers a valuable alternative perspective on the Golden Age of Piracy – with a focus on collective justice, democratic decision making, shared spoils, and, of course, revenge!
