Support the Free Edinburgh Fringe Festival to keep the Fringe Free in 2021
The current Coronavirus Crisis has many organisations and artists in the arts industries without an income, including us.
The Free Festival has been running shows at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2004, providing an innovative format for performers and audiences at the world's largest arts festival.
It's the grass-roots of the Fringe, supporting new and innovative talent outside of the big corporate venues. It's where performers are not charged high rental prices to perform like in a lot of Fringe venues, and audiences are not asked to pay high ticket prices to attend events - instead they donate what they can at the end of the show.
This method has opened up the Fringe to many more performers making it much more affordable to bring a show to the Edinburgh Fringe, and opened up the arts to people who can't afford high ticket prices. We make things fairer for the artists and audience.
In 2019 there were over 9,000 performances of 400 different free Edinburgh Fringe Festival shows and we hope to bring back a similar programme in 2021. A huge festival of free fun available to all.
Much like all of the arts in 2020 we have been affected by the covid shutdown and the cancellation of the Fringe, so help us to continue supporting artists in future years at the Edinburgh Fringe, with all donations helping to keep the Free Fringe Festival running in future years, support artists and make sure audiences know about the grass-roots Fringe.
This year we are running online shows Aug 7-30 (details on http://www.freefestival.co.uk) help support performers by watching these shows and donating to then with our rewards.
Thank You!
