Who we are:
Fé is an artist collective that aims to create time and space to foster critical dialogue and equip the next generation of female artists. Our mission is to address systemic barriers, both historical and contemporary, that have hindered women's access and representation in the art world. Inspired by Virginia Woolf's essay "a room of one’s own," we aim to cultivate spaces that support women's creative expressions through mentorship, artist retreats, and exhibitions.

About our project:
"The act of creating is the act of becoming. Women's education in the arts is an act of revolutionary becoming." — Bell Hooks
The Drop-Off: From Education to Art World is a group exhibition featuring six artists from the Fé Collective. The exhibition opens a space to consider the chasm between art school to art world; a space where there is a drastic drop-off of female artists. According to Dr Kate McMillan in the Freelands Foundation 2020 report, in the year 2019-2020 there were 73% if creative post-graduates were female,[2] and in the year prior 68% of artists represented in major London commercial galleries are men.[3] This exhibition navigates the space between education and art world and why there is a drop-off of female artists.
