Aim: Our housemate and friend B needs to renew his visa this summer and it's outrageously expensive. Let's show some solidarity!

Our housemate and friend B needs to renew his visa this summer.

B is a full-time care worker. He loves what he does, but despite working several jobs on the side and doing such an incredibly essential role, he's not paid enough to keep up with the high costs of migrating to the UK.

Due to his immigration position, he does not qualify for state support.

We love living with B! And we hate how the government makes life harder and harder for people in B's position. By September, he will have to pay:

• £1,258 to renew the visa
• an Immigration Health Surcharge, which is over £1,000 for just one year
• £1,500 solicitor fees 

We're asking anyone who can to chip in towards his visa costs this summer. This will give him - and the rest of the house -some security and peace of mind.
