After surviving domestic abuse where can you rebuild who you are?
By creating our programme of group sessions using art to recover and rebuild we want to help raise self-esteem, increase confidence within a supportive group setting.
By continuing to Work in partnership with local domestic abuse charities in the Bradford and district area we want to offer a consistent recovery and rebuilding space using art to express and process our past, present and future selves.
By using creative practice we are able to have a voice that can carry across a diverse community to develop coping mechanisms when challenges present being less isolated, and if applicable having confidence to be an effective parent/carer to our children/grandchildren.
We can’t change the past but we can help people change how to manage the present, to rebuild who they are after being a victim of domestic abuse.
All directors are domestic abuse survivors, with Jill Boyd, an artist, a former senior mental health nurse, and a lone parent who founded the project before we became a company in 2016 with the Domestic Abuse Charities Staying Put- Bradford and DVS(Keighley). She has a proven track record having been just 1 of 7 Finalists for the National Lottery Awards , Best Arts Project category 2017. The group was a service user led initiative.
We are just ordinary women who have gone through serious adversity to grow, trying to create the extraordinary through positive work and enabling others. Simple.
THIS ALL NEEDS FUNDING SO PLEASE HELP US TO HELP OTHERS.......
