Help us Save the Community Fridge in Frome

The Community Fridge fights food waste by making surplus food from local businesses accessible to everyone in our community, run by a fantastic team of volunteers.  Frome's community fridge was the first in the UK!

We're looking to raise £20,000 to:

  • Keep the project alive and cover costs
  • Fund training so we can increase our volunteer network
  • Create a paid coordinator role to manage operations
  • Return to the heart of Frome: Bring a fridge back to the town centre
  • Open a new Community Fridge at Frome College

Impact so far

Since launching in 2016, the Community Fridge project has saved over eight Wembley stadiums worth of food.

The success of the fridge has helped to inspire more than 60 community fridges to open across the country – linked in with Hubbub’s Community Fridge network.

Last year, fridge volunteers collected an average of 6612kg of surplus food each month from April to August 🥦

Your Role: Help us raise £20,000 to keep this vital project thriving. Every contribution ensures the fridge remains a free, open, and accessible resource for all.

Keep up with the fridge
