We're still collecting donations
On the 4th February 2021 we'd raised £190 with 6 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

On the 4th February 2021 we'd raised £190 with 6 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
This is a Corona Virus Appeal for a Small Independent Business.
Without support via pre-sales of vouchers, hampers and show packages we are under real threat of immediate closure.
Please read on to find out more about us.
The Cloak and Dagger is a new grassroots event venue, bar and diner in the heart of Bristol's Independent District. We are still relatively new and our incubation months have mostly been over lockdown. Our first year of trading was budgeted to survive a small loss but now as trading has ceased altogether due to Corona Virus our losses are looking scary.
Over the past five years we have seen many venues close in Bristol due to high rates and also to make way for student accommodation. There is a demand for smaller venues to arise- we are one of those!
We want to survive!
We are a small ambitious team with decades of experience in the industry who are working on utilizing the building to its maximum potential. We had programmed a calendar packed with weekly events and activities and had generated appeal and customer base from successful past events and serving high quality food and drinks.
Regular events have included- weekly magic shows, therapy drop ins, gigs & club nights, markets, workshops and social activities such as private parties, baby showers and hen dos.
Over lockdown 1 we used the time to do much needed renovation/repair work to the building and make improvements to meet new safety guidelines. We were very excited to re-open again and gave it our all. Purchasing a voucher today helps to keep another destination venue in the city we love.
The venue is a beautiful, versatile and eccentric space, spread across 2 floors. The Cloak rooms are ideal for dining, cinema and daytime events and the Dagger rooms are designed for partying into the early hours. See photos here: Photos
We are also very proud of our weekly menu which is thoughtfully prepared by Masterchef finalist Sebastian Merry, who is passionate about serving fine dining, that is affordable as well as sustain-ably sourced. See example menus here: Menu
Like all businesses we have seen a dramatic drop in customers over the isolation period. All of our events have been cancelled for the foreseeable future which covers 75% of our income, cafe sales are 25% of our trade. We have reduced our opening hours to Thurs-Sunday only, operating a delivery service/takeaway service to comply with advice.
These uncertain times are absolutely devastating, all our staff are full- time and are dependent on their wages from the business. Overheads for the property still need to be paid regardless of our income situation. We have incredibly limited funds as we are not in profit yet.
We are not asking for donations, although these will be gratefully received, we are asking for your future custom. We are pre-selling room hire for private functions and drinks and dining packages.
By buying early you will get the benefit of having offers at a super discounted rate which will not be available otherwise. Your purchase will pay for our staff costs now, and will mean we are able to continue and to re-schedule events and re-open with a bang, offering more than before.
Please contact us to let us know you have made a contribution so we can send you your voucher.
We thank you for your support in saving local business.
Please share xx
