The Clash

Formed in 1976 in the vanguard of British punk, The Clash were a symbol of intelligent protest and stylish rebellion in the turbulent years of the late '70s and early '80s. Their extraordinary recorded legacy comprises five albums including The Clash (1977), Give ’Em Enough Rope (1978), London Calling (1979), Sandinista! (1980) and Combat Rock (1982). They insisted that fans should only be charged reasonable prices for gigs and that double and triple albums cost the same or almost the same as a single album.

Combat Rock

Iconic singles Should I Stay Or Should I Go and Straight to Hell both come from Combat Rock. It was the group's bestselling album, spending over a year in the UK and US charts.

The album was released on May 14th, 1982.

The Blue Vinyl campaign is a special re-release of 10 vinyl albums, pressed in UNICEF’s signature cyan blue. Blue Vinyl is raising money for UNICEF UK’s Children’s Emergency Fund for children affected by conflict and disaster.

The 48 limited edition blue vinyl copies of each of the 10 albums signal UNICEF’s ability to respond to an emergency affecting children wherever they are, whenever crisis hits, within 48 hours.

Each vinyl is individually numbered from 1 to 48 and adorned with a numbered holographic UNICEF edition sticker on the front.
