The Calming Cafe

Aim

I have been given a beautiful opportunity to open a cafe/coffee shop/treatment room for my local community and the surrounding areas.

This has been my idea for a number of years and back in 2018, I was even successful in getting to the final stages of government funding. Sadly, we went into lockdown right before I could bring my idea to life, but it’s always been a vision I held onto. Amazingly, a wonderful opportunity has come up for the perfect property to create a little cafe/coffee shop in my local community, that I can also use as a treatment room for my holistic therapies too.

Combining a calming space for healing with a calming space to have a tea/coffee, chat to others, read a book or just simply relax and take a moment to yourself. The cafe will be set up as a calming environment, using colour therapy, aromatherapy and gentle music.

It will be open to everyone, all age groups would be welcomed, with a focus on welcoming small groups from care homes, lonely and vulnerable people and those with social anxiety..

After working in social care for numerous years, I found it extremely difficult to find a place that felt welcoming to people living with dementia in particular, so I always wanted to open a cafe/tea room that offered special afternoon deals for the elderly. Focusing on sensory therapy, such as music, colour, aromas and lighting.

I am excited about this opportunity and know I can make a difference to the lives of people living within my community. All I’m hoping for is some support financially to help me fo bring this idea to fruition, 

Every sponsor/donation of £100 or more will get their name on the wall of the cafe, noted as a contributor to helping create the space. You will also get a free coffee each time you come to visit the premises, with a special voucher code being emailed to you after your donation has been registered.

For donations of £250 you will be entitled to all of the above, plus, 3 hours of healing treatments (worth £333) or if you’re in another country, you can receive 3 x 1 hour Zoom sessions or donate your 3 sessions to someone as a gift. These 3 sessions will be spread out over 12 months. 

If anyone chooses to donate or you live locally and wish to donate your time by way of volunteering, then please get in touch. All be doing regular updates and videos of the process and how I’ll be using the money as I go to refurbish the property and transform it into a healing space and coffee shop.

You will all be with me every step of the way.
