After almost 4 years as a home based business, help us build our first physical site and share the Bunhead love with Herne Hill!
In 2020, and in the midst of a global pandemic, Bunhead was born. What started as an opportunity to spread a little joy during lockdown has taken on a life of its own and grown in ways I never could have imagined.
From my family kitchen, to my tiny flat, Bunhead is officially making its biggest step yet. Joining forces with a best friend and after 4 years, we’re finally looking towards opening our first bricks and mortar site. Specifically 145 Dulwich Road. We're right by Brockwell Park and will be open just in time for sunny spring walks, with a coffee n a bun in hand and always, a good dose of Bunhead love.
Palestine, South London and food are 3 essential pillars of Bunhead, but growing up it was hard to connect with people who shared my experiences or background. Through Bunhead, I've been able to build a community of like-minded humans who are all about embracing the joy of eating and learning about culture through food.
Being able to blend the 3 has and continues to be the biggest privilege of my life, and being able to take the next step with one of my best friends, is a dream.
Expect more Palestinian bakes, food and flavours, good coffee, local producers and always, the buns that got us here. We aim to create good wholesome food that not only tastes amazing, but also connects people to the rich history and flavours of Palestine. We believe that by sharing culture, we can build awareness whilst bringing people together in a spirit of joy and celebration. In a world that feels so polarised, Bunhead is a celebration of togetherness and liberation. It’s an inherent part of both of us. We can’t wait to welcome you x
THE DONATIONS & ADDITIONAL INFO
We have officially signed our lease and are ready to start setting up shop - so what will your donations go to? Equipment, equipment, equipment! We had secured some small personal loans but legal fees bit us big time, renovation costs have quickly ramped up, and equipment ain't cheap!
The crowdfunder will run for 4 weeks and allow us to invest properly in some ovens, a coffee machine, a wicked shaping table, mixers, our bun displays - all the extra stuff we need to kit out the shop and help us create the smol bakery space we're dreaming of.
Our stretch target will help us invest in an e-bike for local deliveries!
We've got loads of rewards for you to choose from - from buns to bread, exclusive merch and private classes. All rewards will be available once our doors are open and any baked good rewards can be claimed within a year of us opening our doors, will we send out digital tokens once the crowdfunder is closed.
