Building The Bridle Path to provide specialist domestic abuse support, training and research for rural, farming and equestrian communities.
Support The Bridle Path
Support does not stop at the gate.
Behind stable doors, farm tracks and quiet village lanes, people are living with abuse that too often goes unseen.
In rural, farming and equestrian communities, domestic abuse and sexual violence can be hidden behind isolation, land, family business, financial dependence, animals, reputation and silence. For many, leaving is not simple. It can mean walking away from a home, a livelihood, a horse, livestock, a lifelong identity, or the only world they have ever known.
Too often, mainstream responses do not fully reflect that reality.
The Bridle Path exists to change it.
Founded by Kirsty Judd, a qualified IDVA and ISVA with over ten years of frontline safeguarding experience, The Bridle Path is a specialist initiative focused on domestic abuse and sexual violence in rural, farming and equestrian communities. It has been created from both professional knowledge and lived understanding of what happens when the right support does not exist.
This work is about more than awareness. It is about recognition. It is about making sure that people experiencing abuse in rural life are no longer overlooked simply because their circumstances do not fit the usual picture. It is about building responses that understand the role animals, land, isolation, family pressure and community silence can play in keeping someone trapped.
Your support helps make that possible.
By donating to The Bridle Path, you are helping to build and strengthen specialist awareness, professional training, research, partnership working and future support for communities that have too often been left out of the conversation. You are helping create something that speaks to the realities of abuse behind the gate, not just the abuse the world already knows how to see.
For someone living with fear, being understood can be the beginning of safety.
For a professional who wants to respond better, the right training can change an outcome.
For a community that has learned to stay silent, specialist support can be the first sign that things can be different.
Every donation helps The Bridle Path continue this work.
Thank you for standing with us.
Because support does not stop at the gate.
